    Cheap drive?

There's a thing about these memory modules I didn't know until recently.
If they have a major error, they lock into Read Only mode to protect the data that is already on them. (It's deliberate)

I bought a Dash Cam (Chinese) with a cheap arsed (Chinese) MicroSD card that came with it, had close call (got run onto the central barrier by a lorry on a dual carriageway..was OK, only minor damage), reviewed the footage on the Cam, only to find that it had gone into write protect mode two weeks earlier. (It was a pain in the arse even getting the contents recognised on a MS Widows OS)

Most of these Chinese modules are pumped out without any QC, so my advice is not to waste any time fucking about fixing it (unlikely, with no guarantee) and replace it with a reputable branded unit. :/
